Drone Permit in Japan – How Tourists Can Fly Legally with DIPS Registration

4. Pay the registration fee:
   • ¥900 (online, via credit card)

    

Once completed, you’ll receive:

• A registration number
• A Remote ID code
• A marking label → You must attach this to your drone before flying.

Step 3. Apply for a Drone Flight Permit

Certain areas in Japan are restricted. You must apply for permission through DIPS if you plan to:

• Fly near airports
• Fly over cities or crowded areas
• Fly above 150 m (492 ft)
